A new wave of change is coming to Canonsburg-based Aquatech.
On Monday, the company announced its acquisition of Singapore-based Century Water, a water treatment engineering firm that acts as a global leader in ultrapure process water and wastewater recycling solutions — focusing specifically on the semiconductor, pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Century Water has built a truly exceptional team of microelectronics water specialists, and we are thrilled to welcome them to Aquatech,” Devesh Sharma, CEO at Aquatech, said in a release. “As water becomes a critical enabler for more and more industrial operations, bringing Century Water into the Aquatech group of companies will empower our semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing customers to scale with confidence.”
With the new acquisition, Century Water will become Aquatech’s center of excellence for high-tech industries. In the arrangement, there will be a particular focus on providing the global semiconductor industry with high-purity water technology, digital services and O&M support.
This will help to position Aquatech at the forefront of water management by enabling long term sustainable water solutions for the world’s fastest growing industries.
“The Century Water team’s expertise in high purity water and commitment to customer-focused technology excellence makes them a natural fit for Aquatech,” Michael Lesniak, VP, high technology markets at Aquatech, said in a release.
Lesniak also emphasized Aquatech and Century Water’s shared commitment to in-house research and development, as well as innovating and advancing water purification and recycling solutions.
Aquatech will now also be able to operate out of a base in Singapore, allowing the company to further engage with industrial water customers in east and southeast Asia. Along with the new expansion, the acquisition will include several of Century Water’s O&M and BOOT contracts.
“As an entrepreneur committed to building a leading engineering and technology business, I am excited to be partnering with the Aquatech team to drive the next stage of Century Water’s growth,” Eugene Liu, CEO at Century Water, said. “Together, we can bring a new generation of pure water treatment and recycling services, and zero liquid discharge to the global stage.”
