Looking for somewhere to celebrate the Fourth of July? Look no further.
The City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Celebration will take place Thursday, July 4, in Point State Park, North Shore, and Liberty Avenue. It will begin at 4pm and end at 10pm.
This event will include free family activities, musical entertainment on the main stage in Point State Park, and food trucks along Liberty Avenue. A DJ will also be on the PNC Great Lawn, along with a hot air balloon and more food concessions.
The main firework event will begin at 9:35pm. Guests can tune into 100.1 FM KDKA for a live broadcast of an accompanying fireworks soundtrack. The celebration will also be broadcasted live on WPXI-TV.
All guests are required to go through a light security screening at park entrances, including a bag check.
There is also an annual “Fourth at the Fort” celebration at Fort Pitt from 11am to 4pm. At 1pm, volunteers and museum staff will raise a 36-foot American flag. The flag-raising will be followed by activities like cannon-firing until 4pm, when the main Independence Day event begins.
However, this is not Pittsburgh’s only Independence Day celebration — there will be celebrations all across the Steel City. Other great July Fourth celebration options include Kennywood, Carnegie Science Center, the Gateway Clipper, and more!
VisitPITTSBURGH also has a list of other local firework show locations. Wherever you are in Pittsburgh, there’s sure to be a dazzling celebration that’s right for you and your family.
