With summer in full swing, some are planning a traditional summer grill with the family but for vegetarians and pescetarians (who also enjoy seafood), these gatherings can mean limited options and the possibility of going home with a grumbling tummy. Here are five restaurants in the Pittsburgh area that have outdoor dining and great meat-free options: SoFresh, Downtown: While this restaurant may not have its own outdoor seating, SoFresh is located in PPG Place, which offers a plethora of outdoor tables with umbrellas. You might even feel a cool breeze or little splash from the fountain featured at PPG Place. SoFresh offers everything from warm bowls to salads to wraps to smoothies and juices and has several vegetarian and pescetarian options, including proteins like salmon, shrimp and wild caught ahi. All items on the menu are minimally seasoned with sea salt and pepper and are even gluten free unless noted. There also is a SoFresh location in Shadyside. Check out both location’s full menus here.
