The furries are back in Pittsburgh next week for the 26th annual Anthrocon. With attendance increasing each year, this year’s convention is expected to draw an even larger crowd than last year’s turnout of more than 9,700 attendees. The David L. Lawrence Convention Center will open its doors at noon on June 29, kicking off a big weekend of events that will wrap up on July 2. There is a lot in store for this year’s furry takeover, with a jam-packed schedule that includes endless activities and events. Events include river cruises, meet and greets, crafts, games, performances and more. The local Pittsburgh community is encouraged to join in on the citywide events, starting with a block party and parade that will take place from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 1.
